It’s become an annual tradition in my house that every Christmas Eve, once presents are wrapped and preparations are complete, we crack open a nice bottle of wine and watch Love Actually.

If you’ve seen the film, I’m sure you know why I’m referencing this movie right now, in mid-January, but if you haven’t, enjoy this classic scene where Hugh Grant, playing the UK Prime Minister, delivers the press conference to end all press conferences…

Perhaps Keir Starmer needs to have this scene on loop while contemplating how to respond to Trump, because the unfortunate reality we now live in is one which mimics a charming but should-be-entirely-unplausible festive romcom.

Which leads me to wonder… perhaps the only solution to all of this is Hugh Grant for Prime Minister? I’m not saying I wouldn’t vote for it.

Today, we turn our focus to a figure who remains as enigmatic as he is iconic. Ascending to the presidency at one of the tensest moments in American and world history, he energized a nation with his call for a “New Frontier,” navigated the shoals of the Cold War, and inspired Americans with his vision for space and civil rights. Yet behind his polished image lay personal struggles, political obstacles, and a legacy marked as much by tragedy as by promise.

So in this episode, on the anniversary of his inauguration, I’m joined by renowned Kennedy historian Professor Barbara Perry to ask… who is JFK?
