There was a little thing on Sunday called the Super Bowl… have you heard of it?

I felt like I owed it to the show, to the newsletter, and to all of you, to at least try and understand what was going on, so here’s photo evidence of me watching the Super Bowl on TV.

And I can honestly say I had every intention of trying to watch at least a quarter or two.

But when the first three minutes of actual football took 15 minutes to watch, and it was already 11.30pm in the UK, I gave up. Was that premature of me?

Maybe I should have persevered a bit more, but I just find there’s too many breaks in American football. The Super Bowl takes that to the next level, becoming more about the spectacle and the show than anything else.

After all, it’s not the game that’s been getting headlines since Sunday, but the half time performance from Bad Bunny.

Mr. Bunny is the first solo Latino act to ever headline the half time show, and the first entirely Spanish set performed at the Super Bowl. His set was met with overwhelming praise for its messages of diversity, inclusion and togetherness.

Here’s Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, sharing his completely rational and considered response via social media…

Now if you thought that seems unhinged, you clearly have not watched the Megyn Kelly interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored. It is…. something.

And if all of this isn’t enough, Trump had to go and, well, trump himself, by uploading an AI video that transposed Michelle and Barack Obama’s faces on to monkeys.

Yep, everything you just read is correct.

Only 999 days until the next election.

Plus, I caught up with Abre' Conner, Director of Environmental and Climate Justice at the NAACP, to talk about how they’re taking on Elon Musk and pushing for more regulation and enforcement of ‘dirty data centers.’

These data centers pump extraordinary amounts of bad stuff into the air, and often they are built next to poorer, industrial, predominantly black communities.

Here’s what Abre’ had to say about that…
